What additions can be made to the shelving?
Our Monkey Bars storage shelves are designed to be adaptable, and are compatible with several types of modifications. We offer several choices for garage shelving accessories, including hooks and bars for hanging items. To see a full ranges of items and ideas, check out the Gorgeous Garage website.
What is the weight capacity of shelving?
Monkey Bars shelves hold up to 1,000 pounds on each section.
GARAGE CABINETS
How long will these cabinets last?
Our cabinets are meant to last a very long time. We want them to be around as long as possible. We back this up by offering a lifetime warranty on our entire Signature Series cabinet line, and a 7 year warranty on Classic Cabinets.
What are the garage cabinets made of?
Cabinets a built with 3/4″-1″ thick thermal-fused laminate, which is very sturdy. It’s all held together with screws and wooden dowels. Melamine laminate is moisture-resistant and will resist rotting and warping, unlike other wooden cabinets.
Why are the garage cabinets mounted up off the floor?
We mount garage cabinets for two reasons. First, it helps protect the cabinets against potential flooding or pooling water. Second, it makes cleanup around the cabinets much easier.
Do you provide custom sizes or dimensions for cabinetry?
Yes. Within limitations, our cabinets are each customized to meet our customers’ needs.
OVERHEAD RACKS
What types of overhead racks are there?
We offer both a static (stationary) overhead rack and a moving, motorized option.
How much weight do the overhead racks hold?
Static racks can hold up to 750 lbs alone, and up to 1,000 lbs when one side is anchored to a wall. Our motorized units hold up to 350 lbs.
What items are best stored on overhead racks?
The best items to store on ceiling racks are things that you don’t use very often, but still want close by. Things like seasonal gear, holiday decorations, or camping equipment are great for overhead storage.
What are the differences between motorized overhead racks and normal racks?
Our stationary racks are easily accessed with a ladder or step-stool, and they hold more weight. Our motorized rack is built to move up and down at the touch of an app, giving you even easier access to your possessions.
How the motorized overhead racks work?
They are operated by four individual motors to raise and lower the rack. You download an app on your phone that allows you to move the rack to a desired height, and also set height restrictions.
What are the overhead storage racks made out of?
Like the Monkey Bars Shelving, our racks are built from a frame of industrial-grade, powder-coated steel.
GARAGE FLOORING
How long does a floor installation take?
We offer both one and two-day floor coatings. We also offer Swisstrax floor tiles, which can be installed in just a few hours. Depending on your garage and desired style, we will hook you up with the right fit.
Does everything have to be out of the garage during the floor installation?
Yes. To ensure the quickest installation possible, the garage floor needs to be cleared.
What is the difference between polyurea coatings and epoxy coatings?
Epoxy coatings are a type of floor coating that protects the concrete flooring of a garage. Our epoxy was formulated specifically for our dealers’ needs. Although it is extrememly durable, all epoxy will fade and yellow if it’s exposed to sunlight over time. Our polyurea coatings are much more durable and long-lasting than any epoxy. This coating type is resistant to damage from chemicals and UV rays, so it won’t yellow or fade. It’s also more environmentally stable.
When can I start using my new floor?
Most flooring jobs are finished after 1-2 days. Sometimes it can be slightly longer if the space is large. Polyurea coatings are usually ready the next day due to the fast drying properties of the product.
Is the floor covering slippery?
Our floor tiles are made with a combination of rubber and plastic, and are resistant to slippage when wet. The floor coatings are impervious to liquid, so pooling water can make these a little slick. We add a layer of chips to the flooring to provide more traction. If you’re concerned with this issue, we can also add an anti-slip product to the topcoat for an additional charge.
How do I clean my new floor?
Power washing, bristle brooms or mops are all effective options. Our coatings are impervious to liquids, so things like oil or chemicals can simply be wiped up without staining. Dirt or debris can simply be blown out or swept away.
Are the resins used harmful to me or the environment?
Not at all. Unlike cheaper products, our products were designed to be healthy for the environment. Our coatings are formulated with high-solids content, which means less solvents and fewer VOCs being released when curing.
Does the floor scratch?
All of floor coatings are resistant to scratching.
Does the flooring leave a smell?
Not at all.
PROCESS: FROM START TO FINISH
What happens when I fill out a Contact Form?
After you fill out the form, your contact information is sent directly to a member of our team. We’ll try to get a hold of you as soon as possible, usually over the phone. If we can’t reach you on the first attempt, we try a couple more times. If we still don’t hear from you then, we won’t continue to spam you with calls or emails.
How long do the in-home consulations take?
Depending on complexity, you can expect 30-60 minutes to complete your estimate on site. If you need additional time or have lots of questions, don’t worry! We’ll spend as much time as you need to ensure we design the right solutions for your space.
Do I get the estimate during the consultation?
We usually give you an idea of what to expect during the consulation. However, once the consultant has a chance to input the information in our system, we’ll generate a 3D design model of the space, and email that to you along with an estimate detailing the price.
How long is a typical installation?
This varies based on the type of install and size. Most jobs can be completed in 1-2 days, but we will never rush to complete an installation. Specific time requirements can be discussed at the time of the estimate.
BUSINESS INFORMATION
Your website says you’re an authorized Gorgeous Garage dealer. What does that mean?
Gorgeous Garage is a nationwide leader in garage improvement products and organizing solutions. They use top-quality materials and methods to give homeowners options that are safe and reliable. As an authorized dealer, we are the sole representatives of these systems in the Louisville area. Our team has been trained to install and handle these products.
Do you charge for in-home consultations or estimates?
Not at all. All of our in-home meetings are completely free of charge.
Do you have a showroom or storefront I can visit?
We work out of our warehouse in Louisville. We do not have a formal showroom, but we are happy to show clients our products that have been installed in a garage on-site, including Monkey Bars shelving, cabinetry and flooring options.
Do you operate on the weekend for estimates or installations?
In an emergency situation, we can make arrangements to meet with clients on nights or weekends. However, we believe our employees deserve time off to spend with their families, so we do not regularly ask them to sacrifice that time.
Are you an accredited and insured company?
Absolutely! Additionally, we are the only garage organization and flooring company in the area that is non-franchised and family-owned and operated.
Do you offer any discounts or offers (veterans, seniors, referrals, etc.)?
We do offer discounts for veterans, building and design professionals, and repeat clients.
MISCELLANEOUS
Does the price of the product include installation?
Yes. All pricing is quoted with absolutely no hidden fees. Installation is included on all flooring, shelving and cabinetry quotes.
Will the consultant give me a design, or do I tell him/her what I want?
During our consultation, we will talk with you about your goals and ideas for your garage, and take the measurements and inspect the space. We also will show you the products and tell you what we can do. After you have all the information, we work with you to design a garage that will be functional in your home and also execute your vision.
Do I move my stuff out of the garage? Or do move it out for me?
Often, the items in a client’s garage can have personal or sentimental value, and we don’t want to mistake something that’s been passed down in a family for generations for something that’s simply old. If client’s need our assistance moving heavy or bulky items, we can make arrangements to help you or find a professional that will.
Does it matter if I get flooring or storage first?
Not at all. If you are getting these projects done separately, the order doesn’t matter.
If I’m moving, do I have to leave my storage system behind?
That depends on the products and your situation. If you have questions about this, give us a call.
